Motherly Melee in Menifee

Yesterday Menifee 24/7 reported on an incident where the Riverside County Sheriff's Department responded to an altercation at a Kindergarten school play. For those that missed it, here is the readers digest version.

A mother was blocking other parents from seeing their own children perform for Veterans in the audience. When she was politely
asked to move (repeatedly) she became violent, began swearing, and had to be forcibly removed by those same Veterans. Of course her sister chimed in and decided to ruin the play for everyone even further. Their excuse? People were being mean to them because they were black.

I have a message for this woman and for every parent who decides to get drunk and start a fight at kids' sporting events, for the parents who make childhood miserable. My kid is every bit as important as your precious snowflake. Go ahead and cheer for your child when it is appropriate, but understand that everyone else wants to cheer for their kid too. Go ahead and take a few photo opportunities, but let the people behind you do the same. Take your turn and move along. Every parent deserves to see their kids strut their stuff.

Please put your own ego aside and let's all enjoy our kids and their childhood. Let's teach them to be courteous human beings. Not entitled jerks.
