The storefronts adjacent to Fitness 19 have been completely empty since the business opened two years ago. According to Dean, Fitness 19 has just signed the paperwork with property management for the lease extension and plans are currently being drawn up and submitted to the city. A walk-through with management is expected this week.
Fitness 19 would not be taking over the storefronts but their expansion would start approximately half way back, leaving the storefronts available for two or three more businesses to come into that center in the future. The image below shows in approximate idea of how the business will expand into the adjoining suites.
Some of the facility improvements will include more cardio machines such as stair-steppers, treadmills and bikes. Also there will be more room for changing and locker storage. "A lot of our customers come in with bike helmets and motorcycle helmets that don't always fit in the lockers." Dean said.
The company is listening to their clients and welcomes input. The expansion will take the business from approximately 16,000 ft.² to almost 20,000 ft.². It is unclear what businesses will be going into the storefronts between Fitness 19 and the 99 cent only store. Rumors have included a sandwich shop or a hardware store.
